Sorry if that sounds like a stupid question, but I'm a bit new to SEO. ”

“ Hello,
My question to the panel is about choosing a domain name. Does it really make any difference in the choice of how the final domain is formatted? For instance, I own your-education-in.com. I wonder, would it have been better to try and get youreducationin.com/, without the hyphens? I personal prefer it with the hyphens.
Also I wanted to know is it better to buy a domain that has all the elements included in the domain, your-education-in.com was bought so that I can develop sub domains, traffic, surfing, blogging, safelists etc, but now I wonder whether that was a mistake and I should have gone for domain like your-education-in-traffic your-education-in-surfing your-education-in-blogging ...
Looking forward to your reply
Dee Hudson ”

“ Re: Filtering a Keyword List
I have a list of "40,000 Top Paying Adsense Keywords." I want to filter it quickly. I am looking for a way to remove each row which contains a certain word.
For example, if I know I am not going to make a website about loans, I would want to remove every row which contains the word "loan" or "loans."
I have Open Office but could get Excel if needed. I have Keyword Elite but it doesn't seem to work for this purpose. I just can't figure out the best way to do this.
Can you suggest the best way of doing this quickly and/or a good tool to use?

“ Hi Matt - Thanks for the MSN PPC tip. Regarding my other query, I don't think I explained properly. What I was told I did wrong was because my site hadn't yet been indexed at all, I shouldn't have started by using digg and stumble, I should've waited for it to be indexed first before doing that. I've tried your site: thing, my site is www.custombirthdaycakes.co.uk and sure enough, you method shows it truely isn't indexed despite it having good links to it for a month now. Seems a bit weird right? So, if I just keep submitting links, it should appear eventually right??
Thanks,
Phil ”

“ Hi Troops
I've made a few sites before but I've made an error with submissions and now can't get google to find the site. I'm told I went wrong because I 'digged' it, propeller, stumbled..and also 3 ezine articles to it. I've since created a wordpres blogg and submissted to a couple of directories. In short, is there anything I can do now to try and quickly get Google to pick it up?
Thanks,
Phil ”

“ Refer to: Question ID: 864615 Answer No: 544, Matt Garrett
Hi, the answer I was given was to do with rss feeds, the question was to do with data feeds. Are they both the same thing, or has Matt just been confused. I thought rss feeds were articles feeds and data feeds were product feeds from other sites. Your assistance to clear this up would be appreciated. ”

“ Data Feeds - Can you tell me please if I was to put a data feed on my static site, would I get the seo benefit or would the site the data feed was coming from. Or would it have no seo value to me at all, only the value of any sales that were generated from it.
Thankyou

“ Re - SEO and duplicate content I know there are a lot of back and forth ideas and conjectures on this subject. I'm wondering if anyone has experimented with this and tested it.
My question is on duplicate content and whether or not it is "better than nothing."
Lets say I have a site full of my own content and I am adding a unique or re-written article every day and its climbing the serps (which I do.) For example, lets say its a "Hard drives" site (my usual example).
There is a static site, and three Wordpress blogs in subdirectories. Several times per month I do article submissions which link back to my sites using Submit YOur Article.com. I also submit articles to blogs, with backlinks, using TrafficKahuna.com.
Now, almost every day I add a new article to some part of the site. Either original or rewritten. Since I started doing that it is climbing in the serps and reached #12 for a competitive keyword (which gets 1 million searches a month). I want to get above the fold for that keyword.
SO here is my question - if I continue what I am doing but additionally add more content from other places, would this help, hurt, or make no difference.
For example, if I made a blog which was almost soley for guest posts and if I added articles from directories, YouTube videos, and guest posts, daily. Even perhaps using a plugin like Yet another Autoblogger or WP-O-Matic. Of course I would make sure that my posts are relevant to "Hard drives" and actually useful to site visitors. With this method I could add several pages to my site every day somewhat automatically, in addition to the original content I post. But there would be duplicate content in there too.
Would it possibly hurt my site? Or make no difference? Or only help a little?
I know I could test it and I know there are lots of ideas out there pro and con duplicate content. But I was just wondering if anyone on EA has experience with this or has tested the matter more thoroughly than I have. ”
