“ (Terry Telford Please, Regarding Question ID 9679400 on Audio 88)
Hi, thank you for your answer on my findportablehardrives.com :0
What you propose probably would have been a great idea to do this last September when I was thinking about how to solve this domain name issue.
However, at the time my partner encouraged me to just keep it all on findportablehardrives.com, pointing out that most of my traffic was from Search Engines and people don't really look closely at URLs anymore. I was never really happy with that but, I think it is too late now, and here is why:
Since that time, I have added 3 wordpress blogs to the domain, which are all on "general hard drives" ("Hard Drives Updates and News," "DIY Hard Drives," and "Save Money with Hard Drives").
Plus - the site is already ranking up to #20-30 on Google for keywords like "hard drives" and "home hard drives" - both of which are very high traffic and competitive terms in my actual niche. I am aiming for the top.
That's why I think it is too late to change the site itself now. Without moving the entire thing, including 3 blogs, and risking a loss of traffic. It gets about 8000 uniques a month.
So what I wanted to ask about is how it would effect the SEO, if all of my videos link to computers.com/harddrives (on a Page Rank 3 site I already own, like "computers.com" for example). Then I would either
1. Frame findportablehardrives.com into computers.com/harddrives (using frames in the html or php code, so that the URL visitors would actually see would be computers.com/harddrives), or
2. 301 redirect computers.com/harddrives to findportableharddrives.com , or
3. Just swallow my defeat regarding my earlier mistakes, and link all of my videos to findportableharddrives.com, and maybe put a little "About" page on the site which explains how we evolved from "portable" to "general" (blush).
What I am wondering about is the SEO of the backlinks - will the backlinks be the same value if they are redirects or frames? Or nearly the same value?
From a perspective of visitor experience only, I like the framing idea, because the visitor would only see computers.com/hardrives as the URL. Which looks neater, is easier to remember, and is more relevant. But for a search engines - I am wondering how that backlink would be viewed.
Thanks again and I hope this makes some sense.

“ Regarding 301 Redirects and Video Sharing Sites
This is kind of a strange question/problem.
The name of my website is findportable(keyword). When I first created the site it was about portable (keyword)s. Later it grew, and now it is about (keyword)s in general.
Lets say for example it is about portable hard drives. I.e., findportableharddrives.com (this is a made up URL because I don't want to post my actual URLs here).
The site grew and expanded. Now it is about hard drives in general, and the URL doesn't really fit. However, by the time I realized the site needed to be about hard drives in general, it was old, had page rank and traffic, and I did not want to move it. Moving the entire site to a new domain would be too risky financially. Even on Google's blog post about 301 redirects, the risk is clear. The site is earning money and it also has three blogs which would have to be moved, so I don't want to move it.
I will soon start creating videos for the site, and uploading them to video sharing sites. I need to put my URL into my profile.
I can put www.findportableharddrives.com in there, but I feel it might confuse viewers. My website, and many of my videos will be about "hard drives" in general, not necessarily "portable hard drives."
My idea is
1. To use another website I own with a short and catchy related domain name. For example computers.com (also made-up - I don't own that!)
2. Create a blank page at computers.com/harddrives and create a 301 redirect from there to findportableharddrives.com
3. To then input "computers.com/harddrives" into the URL section of each of my video profile pages.
4. On the videos themselves, I would tell viewers to visit computers.com/harddrives for more information.
5. When visitors go to computers.com/harddrives they will be redirected to findportableharddrives.com .
6. Or, instead of redirecting, I could use a frame.
Okay. Here is my question - am I crazy?
From an SEO perspective, will these links be less valuable, than direct links to the site? And how much of a difference does it make? Any pro's and cons I should know about regarding this solution?
And if I would do this, what about redirecting vrs framing - any recommendation? Thank you! ”

“ Re: SEO & Traffic Generation Services
I occassionally build websites for clients and I have been looking for a good, but affordable traffic generation and SEO service, to refer them to once their website is complete. Ideally the service would have an affiliate program. I am looking for something of good quality but inexpensive.
I am looking for something very hands-free. To be honest, my clients are not the brightest people on earth. They are the type who will not follow advice regarding SEO, but seem to think they have a better idea on what to do even though they are novices who ask questions like "what's Firefox?" They are also the type who never manage time to read a single eBook on the subject. Months go by before they find time to spend a few hours working on their website, and this usually consists of maybe writing one article and then writing emails to me with bizarre questions, or questions like "how do I log in to my blog" after I have explained it to them 5 times.
So I'm looking for something relatively hands-free for them.
I have found two possibilities so far, TrafficMills.com and TrafficSage.com (though TrafficMills is not a continuity program as of yet).
Are there any other options I should know about, or any other service you would recommend? (And/or do you have any experience with the two I mentioned above?)
Obviously I want to ensure that my clients get a good service so that I won't regret referring them. And a recurring affiliate commission would probably make it possible for me to offer discounts to my clients when they sign up for the service.
Thank you! ”

“ I recently bought into an SEO franchise that was presented by KJMM ENTERPRISES. After spending about 3K on advertising, I still have not received any compensation from the company.
Is there an seo product out there being sold by KJMM? Have I been Ripped off again? If they do sell it, is it any good? ”

“ Hypothetically speaking, if I had a website that sold Titleist golfballs, and if I knew that a particular Adword ad for Titleist golfballs was profitable/high-converting, would using the same keywords to promote my website help me get similar results in natural SEO? I'm thinking of purchasing a product that reveals this info for PPC, but I am not going the PPC route right now. I only want to use the product, at this time, if it will help me get better natural SEO results.
Thanks. ”
